1. New Taylor Lift Trucks Help Haiti An urgent order was given to Taylor Machine Works just weeks after the devastating earthquake hit Haiti. Two new Taylor TX-220S machines went into quick service in Haiti shortly thereafter. With the excellent assistance of the region’s Taylor dealer, the pair of ten ton trucks was on a vessel from Miami just five days after the dealer received the order. 3. FIRST TAYLOR TS-9968 REACH STACKER TO COSTA RICA The first of the new TS-9968 series reach stackers is headed for Costa Rica in August. It will be operated in Puerto Limon with one of Costa Rica’s largest stevedoring company’s. The company chose the Taylor due to the reputation that Taylor has for building extremely durable equipment. The site where the truck is to be used is a high volume and demanding one, and the customer wanted to be sure their machine would hold up to the conditions seen at the site. The TS-9968 is manufactured at the Taylor plant in Louisville, Mississippi. This trucks joins the ranks of the much larger stackers made there for the rail industry. The truck handles 5 X 9’6” containers in the first row, with capacities of 99,000 lbs. (45 tons) at first row, 68,300 lbs. (31 tons) in the second row, and 33,000 lbs. (15 tons) from the third row. The TS-9968 is based around the typical Taylor design, which is well noted for extreme durability, ruggedness, and simplicity. The TS-9968 was designed to a 1,000,000 cycle life, which exceeds the typical design of all other competitors, who design to life cycles of 600,000 (40% less). Operator controls are very convenient and the whole operation is quite simplistic. All control functions are managed through Taylor’s unique TICS program (Taylor Integrated Control System). This system is in use across Taylor’s wide spectrum of machines, including forklift trucks, empty and loaded container handlers, and cranes. The TICS system does not require costly factory updating and troubleshooting. All this is done right at the site, either by the local dealer or the customer themselves. TAYLOR DELIVERS LARGE TIRE HANDLER TO INDONESIA Freeport Mines is the recipient of a new Taylor Model TE-650L, equipped with the IMT Model 3565 Tire Handler clamp. The Taylor TE-650L with clamp will be used to service all of the mine’s fleet of off road heavy hauler trucks, rubber tire loaders, and a variety of other off road rubber tired equipment. The TE-650L’s base capacity is 65,000 lbs. at 48 inch load center. A truck this large is required for the proper handling of these largest off road hauler tires. Ed Maloney, of Taylor International, will be dispatched to site to assemble the machine once it arrives. He will also train the operators and maintenance personnel in proper operation of the truck. Once the truck is commissioned, it will be maintained by PT Parisada, the authorized distributor for Indonesia. 5. Simplicity, reliability, and durability are the reasons why this Taylor was selected to join the eleven other Taylor machines now operating with the customer in Tanzania. The fleet consists of Taylor reach stackers, mast type loaded handlers, empty container handlers, and mid range lift trucks. Click here for more information about Taylor's TEC-150H 6.
